let it sit there running for a couple minutes and it should be better.

yeah i don't recommend 3000RPM when cold on any diesel engine especially one that has hydraulically controlled injectors, either let it idle for a few minutes or take it slow for the first few miles of driving so the fluid circulates and builds up a bit of heat

i drive my truck like its a rental and i have never hit 3000rpm's. Is the tune up for the psd just like the THROTTLE BODY SPACER they make for them.

Guys, there is NO TUNE UP FOR THE 7.3s~~~~ like Joe said, keep clean fuel in it, add your additives, change your fluids and u will be good to go. I have 135K on the ticker for my truck and it never gives me problems. The way it runs, the injectors are still good, tho i am putting new injectors in come Oct time frame.

Diesel Dawg, I wouldnt go so far to say there's no tune up for the 7.3L. Oil flushes are a part of every 7.3L or 6.0L's Life at some point. There oil fired injectors. The dealers have to use somthing to get the junk out! Not to mention glow plugs, glow plug controllers, FPR, IPR, Drive belts, AC , and so on....There is a tune up, but it's not your average tuneup!

There is no "tune up". A tune up means you replace or ajust parts that start to wear or dont work as well over time. A GPR works or it doesnt, A glow plug works or it doesnt, FPR work or they dont, Belts work or there broken. These are not items you replace at 30k, 60k and 90, like a set of spark plugs... When they quit working, you replace them, unless you just like throwing money at something for no reason...

There is NO reason to do a oil flush on a 7.3 or 6.0, no reason at all. Change your oil and filter every 3-5k and never think about it again. Dealers have to use NOTHING to get the "junk" out.

I will continue to say there is no "tune up" on a 7.3 or 6.0
