His question is $1,000.00 tune up not 100k mile tune up. Just in case anyone is confused about the threat title.

My mistake...

No matter what, there is nothing to "tune up" on a PSD.

doesn't seem to unreasonable to me i guess, the local dodge dealer wanted me to pay $1200 for fluid flushes and replacements, i said hell no and bought the fluid and stuff myself and did the changes myself with the help of some friends, and it's still running great knock on wood

I always change filters every 20,000 miles.

Hydraulic valves... short of a bent pushrod, there is no adjustment.

Well.....We do the BG induction and oil clean on them, BG Fuel Services
More Information and Video The complete services charge between 119.00-500.00 . In some cases we get in to a $1,000 tuneup but theres alot more involed than a standard tune up. Somthing else to consider is alot of shops consider glow plugs and glow plug controllers maint. items.

Just my two cents

First off DONT RUN IT UP TO 3K when its not warm... There is no reason to get that high in the RPM range anyway.

More then likely your bouncing off the rev limiter.

There is NO tune up on a PSD, change the oil, filters and drive it. Run some powerservice thru it every now and then and thats about it.
