Believe me, I've dealt with these situations before. People can turn into a flock of mindless sheep in a hurry when there's something bad to say about a vendor. It's amazing how we all seem to jump on a bash bandwagon faster than when it's about good comments. But I digress....
Hi there,

1- If we had $1,500 or so to throw around, believe me when I tell you that we wouldn't be paying anyone to fill out a survey. In addition, there were no companies listed that I would consider to have been shown favoritism. In fact, four companies where Bill worked were listed on the survey -- two that we owned and two that we didn't own. Had we left them off or simply asked the single question: Who tuned your truck? I would certainly agree with your argument.

2- We recently printed more than 20 pages of posts from 10 different forums, I believe, regarding negative feelings toward one particular tuner. They dated back more than three years. This was before our company was even started.

3- Dennis from ITP Diesel ran a similar survey in early 2008 (I'm pretty sure it was early 2008) and had similar results.

4- PHP created the survey simply because Bill has been asked numerous times for his opinion about engine failures over the past few years. He needed more information than what we had been able to glean from forum posts. The only reason the results were posted is because we had promised to share them with the tuning companies listed on the survey as well as the survey takers. Now that the information has been shared, we have closed access to the raw data, and Bill will be able to use it for its intended purpose.

5- I disagree with you on one point. I believe that people are just as willing to jump on either bandwagon equally -- good or bad. Unfortunately, that's when problems arise... when people who have no experience with a product firsthand decide to start posting without having evidence to back up their statements. I call them Forum Facts, and I don't think it's fair.

That being said, I see nothing wrong with people posting about their own personal experiences with any product. I don't consider that bashing. I believe that the purpose of these forums is to share information that might be helpful to others who are considering purchasing a product from any company. The more Bill and I post, the easier it will be for you and others to see that we don't say anything that can't be backed up with data.

Have a spectacular day!

If everybody would just keep it to their experiences and not expand it, we all might be content....maybe. Not finger pointing at anyone here.

Sorry to hear about all the family issues. Best wishes with it all.

pretty sure most everyone in this thread may be retarded
Thanks bud
