Default 8" lift keep or go smaller

I purchased a CCSB that has a 8" Fabtech lift with 40's and I am debating between putting 37's on and leaving the lift or dropping down to a 6 inch lift and running some 35's. I have to re-gear either way but I am just looking to make it more practical and improve the long term reliability as I plan on owning the truck for several decades.

I would lower it for sure!! my friends both have 2002 7.3 Ltr crew cabs. one with a 8.5" and one with a 10" both love their trucks but when I got mine and only put a 4" running 35s, I get the best fuel milage and I have no troubles towing my toy hauler. they have a hell of a time putting their toys in the bed of there truck. it takes about 3 people . lower your truck and it will be more convent.
