Default BOTH batteries are dead after 6 weeks of sitting!!! WFT

ok guys while i was gone my dad took my truck to dealership for a check engine light, well their techs wouldnt touch it because the ball joints are on their way out the door. so fast forward to today and i go to pick up my truck to replace my ball joints at my house BUUUTTTT truck wont start ( it barely makes a sound). the dealership hooks up a battery charger to one battery and a new f150 to jump the other battery, waited an hour or so and still didnt fire up!!!!!. so i left truck there so they can charge batteries over night. any ideas what would kill a truck that fast? there were no gps, phone charger, or anything plugged in to draw the juice, the batteries are less than 2 years old ( fired up like champs ). can my edge programmer drain the batteries ? i know diesels are hard on batteries but damn haha, any feed back would help.

thanks for reading,
Dillan

You might have something touching in the wires or a ground messed up. I donno anything about the chips..and just cause they are new(er) batteries don't mean they are good. Take em' off and test em'. That will give you whats goin on. Also replace them in twos not just one because the other one is normally bad if one is because it feeds off the good battery. Happy hunting

your ECM will drain batteries in about 2 or 3 weeks. Not sure about the EDGE draining it or not but would say yes if it is plugged in you will have a draw on the batteries.

I'm confused they wouldn't diagnose a CEL because the ball joints are bad Guess I'd find someone else to work on my truck
