Default Dead batteries, water pump leak

Had My 2001 24v parked for a few days, normally DD but it has been cold so I parked it. We are getting ready to go south for the winter. we are not here when it is this cold.
alternator is charging about 14v with the batters down. will the grid heater drain the batteries that far if I cycle it 3 or 4 times. what other things could drain the batteries like that.
Also is there a drain on the block for the antifreeze. I have to change the water pump {leaking}

{thought I had it all ready to travel guess not}

thanks
Mike

The grid heater shouldn't drain the battery that bad after 3 or 4 cranks I would take it and check for a bad battery my truck never has problems starting even when it's not plugged in as for the drain for the block I'm not sure I think there is a block drain but I have never drained the block in mine but I'm sure someone will chime in on the

got the water pump in. easiest I have ever done. old pump was loose, bolts were not even finger tight. installed new pump anyway.
cleaned post and grounds, is starting now. but going to charge and have the batteries tested anyway..

I made some calls and found it is doing it job. when I would start the truck I would only be at 10v or so the it would go up and stop at 14+ where it should be...
The thing is We are never in the cold weather. I never had this happen before...LOL
