Hpop can if if you dont get enough pressur mine on my 96 was week i got a hydrolic gage and mine wouldnt put out but 400 psi at idel the new one puts out 700 at idel it fixed it

Do real diagnosis check every thing dont stop till you get it

 

It should put out 500-600psi at idle... If the new one puts out 700psi its just a oil temp or IPR issue.

The health of your HPOP can not be told by idle pressures. A damn near dead pump will put out 500psi to keep the truck running.

But again, a bad HPOP would not cause white smoke like the OP is explaining.

 

Ok sorry we werent getting verry hi psi as we reved it up so we took a truck with nothing rong and compaired. it would white smoke at idel but would go away as i got up speed the moter was week and all of it went away after we changed it power came back truck runs great now just going buy experience thats all i have i guess im doing ok my 96 gets 20 mpg and has 360000 miles and ive fixed it all my self

 

If you dont have over 500-600 PSI you cant start the truck, If im correct?

 

its an oil smoke there was adress alot of oil in the intake tube so we are gonna adress that and go from there if that doesnt help we will be doing a compression test on it i hope its not the rings at 180000

 

PCM will not light up the IDM until 450psi...

 

ok im gonna but injector orings in it see if that helps anyone have any info on how to do this just wanting to know what im in for before i start tearing into it thanks guys
