hi guys ,

new to the site and need some opinions. im in the miiddle of doing a conversion for a friend. his 6.8 gasser is finished and now that hes useing the truck more for traveling then just a farm truck i convinced him to do a cummins conversion.

we have a 97 12v cummins truck the engines are out of both trucks .the adapter plate,starter ,ring gear are all mounted.

has anyone gone thru this before? . i just want a heads up on any potential problems.

Try posting in the conversion section instead of the 7.3 section since you don't have a 7.3 and arn't swapping one in.

 

my buddy this to an 06 after getting tired of the problems with the 6.0 and the lack of ***** we ran into problems with the torque the cummins throws down he had to get a beefy torque converted after going threw two of them i cant rember which he bought, and the joints holding the axel on gave way as well.....granted we were pulling d3 cat dozer on an eager beaver as long as your not pulling heavy equipment like that the conversion kits hold up nicely and youll have yourself one sexy truck

 

You mean a Cummins "B" can break stuff on a truck that's not a Dodge? Hmmmm....
