1999 f250 v10 conversion to 12v cummins
 

hi guys ,

new to the site and need some opinions. im in the miiddle of doing a conversion for a friend. his 6.8 gasser is finished and now that hes useing the truck more for traveling then just a farm truck i convinced him to do a cummins conversion.

we have a 97 12v cummins truck the engines are out of both trucks .the adapter plate,starter ,ring gear are all mounted.

got the kit from fordcummins.com
has anyone gone thru this before? . i just want a heads up on any potential problems.

Try posting in the conversion section instead of the 7.3 section since you don't have a 7.3 and arn't swapping one in. :s:

my buddy this to an 06 after getting tired of the problems with the 6.0 and the lack of balls:argh: we ran into problems with the torque the cummins throws down he had to get a beefy torque converted after going threw two of them i cant rember which he bought, and the joints holding the axel on gave way as well.....granted we were pulling d3 cat dozer on an eager beaver :c: as long as your not pulling heavy equipment like that the conversion kits hold up nicely and youll have yourself one sexy truck :rocking:

You mean a Cummins "B" can break stuff on a truck that's not a Dodge? Hmmmm.... :tttt:
