Default Injector o rings

So being as my second new air filter is black after doing some research and with the problems i am having i'm thinking my injector o rings are bad. I've never gotten around to putting the truck on a scanner like you guys have said but i'm just wondering if you can replace the injector o rings your self? The o rings are external right? I'm thinking this is the cause of oil in my fuel, slight blue smoke at start up in the morning, Loss of power/Fuel mileage, slight loping at idle and also some wierd starting problems

i'm not entirely following? so you think fuel and oil is travelling backwards into the filter? well you can do o rings your self. they are external. just cut the old ones off and roll the new ones on. make sure you lube the injector up before you put them back in. follow injector replacement too.

Yes you can replace them. Its a few hours work and a set of 8 o ring kits is about $50-60

Okay cool. Yeah all the problems i'm having kinda roll towards bad injector O rings. I've replaced two Fuel filters in the last week and they come out black

I've never had any problems the last couple years filling up at texaco... Injector orings aren't bad. Just get the injectors out. Take the old ones off, put the new ones on, lube the injectors (I always dip the entire injector in a cup full of oil) and then plop them back in. Seat them and torque them down. Pull the glow plugs and crank the oil out of the cylinders with valve covers on. put glow plugs back in and crank on it til she comes to life...

Yeah seems like a pretty straight forward job. I just hope it fixes my problems.

If it doesn't, at least you'll have new orings and you'll be one step closer to finding the issue... Pretty inexpensive thing to do anyways...
