Default 7.3 Idler pulley HELP

Ok guys i just put a new idler pulley on my truck today because the barring in the old one was shot but i noticed after i started the truck to check things out the new puley is a little sloppy, i watched the pulley spin and it moves back and forth just a little bit and when the motor is stopped i can wiggle it a little back and forth with my hand, is this normal??? I bought the pulley from o'reiley's and its made by Gates in Canada if that helps

Remove it and take it back. Gates pulleys are good, I've used a few of them. But it shouldn't have that much play.

Default 96 f-250 psd

96 psd/ idler pully: I looked 4 a receipt and couldn't find it (6yrs ago), I was travlin through Modest, CA at the time so I called info' got the #, called and the counter person was not aware of a solution. I recall the guy tellin me that his buddies f-250 had same problem and he found a pully from a different year (or make/model) apparently this is not a bonifide fix, regretts, icfjay. That was 100k mi ago, I suppose I was lucky
