Yes it's normal. My superduty would have it's ebpv engaged half way to work when it was cold out. My OBS is a little shorter though; but depending on temp it will still engage for a few miles.

i know guys that use a switch to use that as an exhaust break, i have a dp tuner chip and the one program is exhaust brake. works nice...alternator, did it start to charge? my obs takes a few seconds to start charging but it will start eventually. i'd check the alternator plug. they are common to go bad and quit charging.

Look up the DIY on installing a switch. You can install a 3-pos switch thats On, Off, or Stock.

Your glow plugs are working hard as hell on that first cold start of the day. Thats why there's two big ole' batteries (the bigger the better!)

Ok thanks alot guys you been alot of help but the alternator only doesn't charge when its cold weather at idle. And that plug for pressure exhaust valve is under intake side of turbo? and to unplug it, it is the one I would half to pull toward the front of the truck?

The truck doesn't make charge at idle on the first cold start because the GP's suck all the power. After the gp's shut off, the truck will begin charging like normal.

The plug is right under the intake side of the turbo. It's very obvious.

Yes you connect it to a switch. I suggest a 3way switch; On, Off, and Stock (which means the truck can use it when it wants to).
