Default 97 7.3 f-350 acts like its running out of fuel?

working on a 97 f350 4x4 7.3 and every once in a while (a couple times a week) if you floor it it will act like its running out of fuel (like draining the bowl on a carberated motor) if i let it sit and idle it will pick back up and be fine for a couple days. just had a new mechanical fuel pump put on it. and a cam sensor. and it will lope when its first started after sitting a few hours or overnight.

any help appreciated!!

Quick and dirty test would be to take the valve covers off, start the truck, watch the oil spouts. They should dispense the same amount of oil. Also, unplugging each injector should result in a significant change in idle. This will help rule out injectors. Next to that you need to see what the HPOP is doing.

if it is intermittent, then it sounds like an electrical issue. Mechanical issues have generally consistent symptoms.

Scan it... Check the ICP pressures and duty cycle when driving.

Also run a buzz test and a cylinder cont test.
