Head removal - is it really that easy?
This is on a 95 Powerstroke.
I have a glow plug tip stuck in the 2nd cylinder from the front on the passenger side (cyl #3?) and have exhausted all options to remove it (at least all the options I want to try - cranking to shoot it out is not going to happen).
The head is coming off.
I redid the cyl head gaskets on a 91 7.3 IDI last year and that went quite well (aside from the issue with the cracked head ).
Looking at this engine, it appears that removing the head on the passenger side should be relatively easy but is it really?
no intake manifold? looks like I just undo the boot from the turbo.
it even looks like I should be able to remove the head without removing the turbo or any exhaust piping (other than the exhaust manifold)
My google-fu has failed to come up with a comprehensive write up on removing the PASSENGER side head. I found a good write up on the driver side head but that one seems a whole lot more complex.
