Try jumping the relay with a screwdriver or wrench, or better yet a set of jumper cables, just go from big terminal to big, wait about 10-15 seconds and try and start...

Sounds to me like you have a bad GPR.

That's what I'm thinking...

Was almost dark when I got off work & cold/raining & tonight it's rain/snow, but should be up in the low 50's tomorrow, going to run by a parts store and pick up a GPR and just play parts switcher & see if that fixes things...

Are all GPR's created equal, or are some better than others?

Either a GPR 109 from Napa or a Stancor 586-902 from Mouser Electronics...

They do the same job.

If you go to Napa, dont tell them you need a glow plug relay for a powerstroke, they will insist on selling you one for $70 bucks...

ask for a GPR-109 or a GPR109... Should run you $30-$40 bucks out the door depending on your discount.

Now that I'm alive, will be running out to Napa for the 109.....and might order a Stancor 586-902 as a backup. Just hope the truck starts without having to dig out some jumper cables or plugging it in...

You can jump the GPR with a screw driver and wait about 15 seconds, then run around and it should fire off...

According to napa's web site they have the GPR109 in stock for $31.99 & since I've not been in there for a few years figure it will be pay full list price...

Think I'll get a couple cans of brake cleaner to flush out the fuel filter housing while I'm at it, since the filter needs replaced...

True....but after getting zaped I'm not a big fan of doing that...it's a last ditch emergency thing....

Picked up a GPR @ napa & whoever designed em needs to be shot, they shifted the terminals around just far enough that the big wires would not quite reach.....so the wires did not go back on the terminal they came off of...but it appears that does not matter as long as they are size matched....hopefully this fixes the problem, we shall see as they are calling for cold/wet/snow for the rest of the week....

Thats the key with the GPR109, its not a dead on fit for the Fords, but if you just bolt it down with one hold down you can spin it just enough to make everything good.

Yeah that's what it sounded like diesel combustion chamber needs to b around 800 degrees or something around there with no GPR ur rings were doing all the work trying to start it. When the block is 40 degrees it takes awhile Haha I had the same prob.
