Default Lets see how good you guys are: wont start

Ok guys, Ive got a 97 f 250... I had a fuel leak fixed it... in the process I unhooked some electrical connections, but never unhooked more then one at a time, and always plugged it back in before I needed to undo another one to get to what I was doing next.

Went to start her up and it turned over but wont start... she really wants to though

Then i noticed smoke coming from the starter solenoid or relay... Its next to the fuel filter housing with a cap that reads "do not jump start here"

So I ran through and make sure I did not smash any of the wires while wrenching and the all look good.

Ive got an adequate amount of oil, the fuel filter housing fills up while cranking, but attached to the fuel filter bowl on the drivers side there is a "valve"(i'll call it) with a shradder valve fuel one trickles out a very small amount when I test if there is pressure (key in the on position and off)

Someone suggested the fuel was to cold, Im in California and its in the low 40's, oil pressure unknown, but proper amount of oil, could it be the cam position sensor? And I just have wonderful luck? If that went out, would that cause the wires connected to the starter solenoid /relay? to smoke?

Thanks guys, Hope thats plenty of info and I sure hope I can get some help Im new to diesels and feel like an idiot, but im not to proud to ask for help, so THANK YOU!

i believe thats your glow plug relay, it sends the power to your glow plugs to warm the fuel to start the truck, if that relay is bad you truck will start hard if at all, try replacing that and see what happens,

i believe your starter relay is on your fender well on the passenger side

dont know how true it is, im not a ford guy, but i drive astroker for work, when it wouldn't start in the cold the local dealer told me to spray just a touch of eather, not a lot at all, and DO NOT LET THE GLOWPLUGS CYCLE then try to start it, if it starts then its probably a glowplug problem, im sure someone will chime in and let you know if this is accurate or not

i'd say replace the glow plug relay. and using either COULD lift your heads but it is not garanteed. i use it on my 94 stroker. but it's just about half a squirt.

Well I tried a bunch of stuff... and theres a unit on the side of the fuel filter bowl on the drivers side with and theres in no fuel pressure at the shradder valve on that piece... Why would I not be getting fuel there

I tried:
trying to start the truck hooked to jumper cables
Replaced the cam position sensor
unhooked the ICP sensor and tried to start the truck
checked fuses and relays
Checked oil and fuel levels

I think tomorrow Ill try to test the fuel pump and glow plug relay

It really really wants to start just wont... :-(

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

I think, also, that i MAy just have a bunch of air in the system... because I replaced a few fuel lines and took other parts of the fuel system apart... so it was open for hours and at multiple points...

How would I purge the fuel system of air?
