Lets see how good you guys are: wont start

Well I tried a bunch of stuff... and theres a unit on the side of the fuel filter bowl on the drivers side with and theres in no fuel pressure at the shradder valve on that piece... Why would I not be getting fuel there
I tried:
trying to start the truck hooked to jumper cables
Replaced the cam position sensor
unhooked the ICP sensor and tried to start the truck
checked fuses and relays
Checked oil and fuel levels
I think tomorrow Ill try to test the fuel pump and glow plug relay
It really really wants to start just wont... :-(
---AutoMerged DoublePost---
I think, also, that i MAy just have a bunch of air in the system... because I replaced a few fuel lines and took other parts of the fuel system apart... so it was open for hours and at multiple points...
How would I purge the fuel system of air?

You will not have fuel pressure on a OBS without the truck running. The fuel pump is mechanical and works off a lobe on the cam. If you opened up the fuel system it will take a while to get the air out, but we are talking a few cranking sessions...
Sounds to me like your Glow Plug Relay is out, and with an older motor it needs that extra heat to fire off.
Charge your batterys very good, jump the two big posts on the relay, wait about 30 seconds and then crank the truck. It should fire up and run rough. It will clear up in 10-15 minutes or so.

how long does your guys wait to start light light stay on?
Mine stays on upwards of 30 seconds, would that be an indication of anything?

why? what advantages have you found? or disadvantages with others?
Thanks.

The glow plugs are controled by the PCM and can stay on as long as 2 minutes...

If I remember the wiring diagram correctly if you are not getting power thru your glow plug relay then you wouldn't get the "wait to start" light. I'll check the diagram when I get home. I had a problem that sounds just like yours, cranks real strong just wont fire up. Mine was the fuel heater soldier had come apart and it was shorting on the bottom of the fuel filter. I had a 30 amp fuse blowing causing my symtoms. There's one other relay that is in that small circuit, I'll find that tonight too. You may have already checked it out but I'll let you know.
