Hey DB,
When I start my 97 F250 powerstroke in the morning (Summer 65-70 degrees), it blows a good amount of white smoke for 5-10 minutes if I let it idle. After the truck is warmed up, it no longer smokes white.

Input anyone?

It really depends, Sound injector related. Incomplete burn of the fuel caused by improper atomization can cause a white fuel smoke thats very strong, almost burn your eyes. If the turbo is leaking a bit of oil or you've got a leaking valve stem seal the warm up valve can cause oil smoke but I'm not sure if it's controlled by IAT values or not.
If it's fuel it'll sting your eyes a bit. Get some more detail to us and we'll help if we can!

I actually have the turbo off right now. Replacing some o-rings underneath that gave me a nasty leak.

 

Turbo is back on, and still smokes white for the first start.
Anyone ?

 

Saying faulty injectors in jumping the gun, there are many other things that need to be tested first before throwing any parts at it.

Smell your exhaust first and see if it smells like fuel or oil, then you can go from there

 

my truck didi that for about 6 to 8 months then one of the injectors went bad and washed out a cylinder in the engine so i bought a new engine.

 

i can't say i have ever seen a powerstroke that didn't blow a little white when first started and it was chillier outside

 

Could be a glow plug or two, could be a leaky nozzle, could be a cracked injector cup...


Whats it smell like?
