manual transmission problem......

Default manual transmission problem......

okay soo im looking at buying a 1996 f250 powerstroke with 137000 miles it has a 5 spd manual transmission in it. it allready has a dual plate clutch. the seller has informed me that he has to shift slow into 2nd and 3rd he thinks the syncronizers are going out of the tranny. does that sound right to you guys? if so would it be better for me to replace just the syncros or do a complete rebuild on the tranny? where is a best place to find good syncros or a rebuild kit? and how much would that cost me? thank you for your help i greatly appreciate it!!

if its only the syncros no big deal but what caused them to wear so quick sounds like a lot of gear snaching

if it has a dual disk with a 3800# pressure plate then thats why its hard to shift. those dual discs will not allow you to shift fast under any curcumstances from driving my bros dodge. but if it is the synchros i would do a full rebuild and be done with it. if you do it yourself idk how much it would cost but you can get them rebuilt for around a grand...
