Yep, it can be done but usually not cheep, Unless your a good scrounger.. The front axle alone can set you back about a grand for a KP D60 then your going to need the Xfer case you can use a divorced set up which would be cheaper than finding a married tranny and case..

best thing is try to find a donor truck.either 250 or 350 suspension(springs,spring hangers,all the same,on 4wd)main diff between 250 and 350 is front axle,best to find a wrecked 350.there will be alot of labor.at the least you will need a air compressor,1/2" heavy duty drill,die grinder,air chiesel,or torch ,impact,and someone to help you.you will need to find a front axle from 87-97.donor truck needs to be 92 -97,for parts or order hangers and stuff from a dealer,need to decide if you are going to lift the truck now would be the time
