Default Shocks On My Stock F350-- What Brand Works?

My 96 has 231,000 miles on it, it is stock as far as I know, the shocks are original according to Ford. I'm the third owner so I don't know. A friend said he could get me some at a good price. I said great, as long as they are not Monroe's. I have Monroe's on one of my SUV's and the simply suck, no better way to say it. On my Xterra I use Rancho 5000's, they also are P.O.S.'s...........

My buddy dropped my shocks off today, with a bill for $227.00, and the shocks are Monroe Reflex. Monroes ad says For all vehicles, especially those with high centers of gravity such as mini-vans, SUVs and light trucks. My truck weighs 6150 lbs, is that a light truck?

My question, are these Reflex Shocks worth installing or is there anohter brand I should look for? Experience tells me to shy away from Monroe's all together. I could get for shocks from Four Wheel Parts for less than $227.00 and probably be more suited to a truck than an SUV.

Any suggestions?

I have a set of Bilsten's on my truck and love them! Quality product that has years of development and racing experience behind them.

I'll look into the Bilsteins and see if I can get them locally. Thanks for the tip.

I am going to put Bilstein's on my truck. Few guys put them on their trucks and it solved the back end walkout from hitting bumps in the road.
