Cracked Piston?

I am looking at buying a 94 PSD ,but the guy thinks it has a cracked piston,he says it runs fine but it uses alot of oil,am I geting in over my head?

i dont know, are you mechanically competent.....and how much does he want.....and is it a PS or a IDIT???????

I am learnig, I thought it would be a good place to start and cheaper than working on my durmax if something went wrong ,I am tradding him a 84 blazer,the truck is a 94 with a 5 speed,so it is a PS,right?

no it could be a turbo IDI......either way the truck is worth it......why does he think its a cracked piston???

Because it uses alot of oil,and it has a miss
