Default Looking for advice 97 7.3

Hi guys. Brand new and looking for advice. Looking at buying a work truck and found a 97 with just over 200k on it. It has a 3" down pipe conversion with a full 4" exhaust to a 5" tip. Also has a TS 6 position chip. Don't know much about these kind of aftermarket things. Downside is it needs a new drivers side axle shaft. Just wondering what kind of price is good and what the exhaust modifications are for. Also are axle shafts hard/expensive to replace? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

axle shaft shouldent be too expensive at a salvage yard and are very easy to replace. i would say 4 to 6k would be okay price depending on the shape of the truck. The ts chip is good and so is the exhaust work, opens it up so it can breathe, get better power and better millage.
