Regear for bigger tires????
Hey guys, I am putting a 4" lift on my truck this weekend and am going to be running 37x12.50's. Do you guys think I will need to regear to make it drivable? I know it won't be fast, hell it already isn't fast with 33's. But do you think it won't be able to pull up hills or anything running 37's? I currently have stock 3.55's.
keep it out of OD if your tranny is auto. i would go to at least a 4.10 or a 4.56. im running 40's on 4.88s but i live on the coast and we dont have hills but in the mountains i stay out of OD to keep the trans temp down.
With 37s and a 3:55 your truck will be almost undrivable. Even with the huge low end grunt we get from the Cummins the gear ratios will be all out of whack. OD will be useless before 70 mph and even 3 will be lugging at 55.
410s for that sized tire and that is factoring in the grunt of the diesel. On a gasser I would say 4:88s!
