97 powerstroke tune up
Should I check out these injector cups while its apart or would I have noticed some other isues if they needed replacing? The only trouble I've been having is tons of smoke at startup. I am asssuming this should be resolved by the glow plugs and orings
Thanks again Joebob and everyone else for your help.
Is this process gonna be as easy as it seems? or is there anything I should look out for screwing up? Ive put glowplugs in my '99PSD before, but never pulled any injectors. Seems like cake though. just work the orings on in the right order and slap it all back together right

Do I need to worry about getting oil down in the injector cups and hand cranking the motor over once the injectors are reinstalled? Ive read that people will crank the motor with the glowplug out and the injectors unplugged to purge the oil out.
Or can I just throw it all back together and let the truck fart out the oil and fuel mix?

It took me seven yes seven hrs to replace my glow plugs in my 99 because one was seized in the head. We pulled that injector off that cylinder to look down in there. Wasn't hard at all. With you and a buddy I'd say 5-7 hours without stopping and no issues. It isn't hard just a lot of awkward positions to sit in for a extended period and maneuvering parts to get in there.
