Won't start

If you didn't mess with anything under the dash, the jumper block inside the cab should still be there, and if you jumper the neutral safety wires on the _outside_, where the harness (8-wire connector, per the '95 EVTM) used to plug plug into the tranny (see post above about red-black wires), it should allow you to start the truck.
One thing, well, two things, to keep in mind once you get this going. If you opt to stay with the automatic jumper block in the cab, and don't commission the pushrod switch, two things will happen.
One, you'll be able to start the truck in gear without your foot on the clutch. 'Course, that's the way manuals worked for decades, before the lawyers got involved, but you should know that when you do that, the starter will turn the engine and move the truck. Some folks have poked holes in their garages (or worse) that way.
Two, the clutch won't interrupt the cruise control. So if you're rolling down the road using the cruise, and hit the clutch to shift or coast, the engine will redline. Just make sure you tap the BRAKE pedal first; that will interrupt the cruise just like it always has.

EEEK, there's a misprint in the EVTM. Those wires are red / light blue, not red / black. If by any chance you jumpered a gray/red wire, that would do exactly what you experienced. Double-check which wires you jumpered.
Actually, several of the depictions of the trans selector connector have boo-boos in the EVTM. I only found ONE where the drawing and table didn't contradict. Fortunately, this one also agrees with the actual wiring diagram pages for the various circuits. It sounds like maybe you jumpered the "hot in run" wire that is supposed to feed the reverse light circuit. Let's see if this attachment works; it should give you a better idea exactly which two to jump.

Thanks man if I could buy ya a box of beer I would but I'm only 17 anyways I'll try those wires tomorrow. And I'll keep ya updated!

There's no different ignition switch between manual and auto. A quick check on Tousley Ford Parts, and RockAuto, indicates that the switch is the same between '95 and '97, so that diagram from the '95 EVTM should be good. Are you _sure_ you jumpered those two terminals at the opposite ends of the connector, like my pic shows? That is, #5 and #8? And _not_ #7 and #8?

Do you still have the automatic tranny around? One option, as mentioned in your thread on that, er, other site, is to pull the switch off the auto tranny and plug it into the connector. Then move the lever on the switch (the one that the auto tranny shifter cable used to operate) until it's in Neutral. That should make it go. Otherwise, you'll need an assistant and a voltmeter to probe the wires on the connector and turn the key to check for voltage.

Nope. I don't have the tranny or the connector. Shouldn't the truck being in park already make it think it's in neutral. If the gear selector is in nuetral. The key won't turn over. So the truck has to be in park. I'm gettin really mad as to this is my dd so I'm really just trying to figure out a way to do it cuz the wires don't seem to match up to anything. Any other ideas? I appreciate the help man
