6.4 PSD Performance So Far
#41
Hi Guys!
Just found this site ...and also a brand new owner of an '08 F-350 4x4 dually!
So far I've only driven it 2000 miles, but am quite happy so far!
I averaged 15mpg unloaded going to LA and back and 10mpg hauling my jeep from here to Moab and back. It's got way more ***** than my old Tundra had and I feel much better towing with it!
Cant wait to get under the hood and get some better milage! Looks like some of you guys are figuring out what needs done!

Just bought me a 08 F250 6.4 turbo Power Stroke. My first Diesel. It came with a 6" lift and 37 x 13.5 R20LT tires. Not happy with the tires and think I may change them out when it is time to buy new ones. My speedometer is off, Ford says they may be able to adjust it some (about 5mph) for me but not much more than that. So far my MPG is around 12 without towing or hauling anything. Thought it would be a little higher.

Why dont you try going out and dropping $50,000.00 to $75,000.00 on a new truck and foot the bill for your own fuel bill. I dont know just saying, DONT BE THAT GUY.....

Ya know considering the current state of affairs with the OIL Jack off's ( uh companies ) and the cost of Diesel ( even though it is a by-product of fuel production ) your ability to get free fuel to drive your " COMPANY TRUCK " is'nt very cool at all to rub it in.

First, guys.... this thread is YEARS old. I'm pretty sure the OP doesn't even visit here anymore.
BTW, your post directed at Clay couldn't be any more inaccurate. He does foot his own bill, he just doesn't have to pay for fuel he makes himself. He has the one and only prototype vegistroke on a 6.4 Ford. He will have to pay for diesel eventually, but how much diesel do you think a motor uses for warm up and shut down? Shut down is a 10 second purge and a 60-90 second run time. Warm up is start it, and as soon as coolant hits 140-160 it switches over. Total, usually less than a gallon.
