Elictrical fault in the map sensor circuit.

 

The coolant filter install should have nothing to do with this... UNLESS you've left something unplugged, which it certainly sounds like. That or this was just one big coincidence. That is a map sensor fault like tiremann said. Exactly what Bob was telling you to look at. I haven't really heard of a map sensor going bad, maybe Bob will have more experience with that.

 

If the electical is hooked up on map sensor then I believe the hose is cracked or broken, think it is just a piece of 5/16 fuel hose, might pull it off and check it, might have a wrap around it so I would pull that off to inspect. Don't think Iv'e heard of a map going bad.

 

Exactly what I was thinking, never really heard of the map going bad.

 

I never disconnected any electrical connectors while doing the install, and everything else looks fine, It may very well be a coincidence that it happened when it did. As soon as I get a chance this morning I will run out and take a look at the hoses again, but beyond that not too sure.

 

How does the truck actually run? Usually if that hose is left off it will run like junk...

 

Here's a pic of the intake manifold as looking from the top/front of the truck. There is a lot of stuff removed in this pic, but it makes it easy where to look...



Just to the left of the blue hose there you'll see that silver colored "nipple" coming out of the intake manifold, that's where that line should be slipped on. Is that the one you checked?

 

To answer the question, the truck runs fine, just cant see the boost gauge moving on the dash. I do hear the turbo spooling up, but it sounds somewhat different than before.

Yeah that is the one, I pulled the cover off the line and everything checks out from what I can tell. What I think I may have done is broken a wire in the electrical connector under the bracket near the firewall. Might have been a little too aggressive with trying to get my hands in there to get the "t" fitting hooked into the hose. I think I will try to disconnect it and take a look to see if it came depinned or broke a contact. If that is the case, I may have to replace that connector.
