Do It Yourself Water Alcohol Methanol Injection
Do It Yourself Water Alcohol Methanol Injection
I saw your price and thought you could have gotten a pre-made kit for less from aquasteth.

It's not a snow, coolingmist, or DO, and certainly no aquamist, but it would do what you want it to.

So with a vehicle weight of 7500lbs we will say... (I'm using this number as an arbitrary number since we don't know the cab/bed configuration. D-max's are typically lighter, but I figure with 8" lift and big tires it's probably close enough)
His first run without the mpg max system on was ~422rwhp
His run with it went up to ~ 547rwhp?
He gained 125 rwhp from a mileage oriented injection kit? I'm not doubting your kits don't work, but I don't think they work that good...
His 60's were probably terrible too, judging from the 8" lift and 37" tires, because if you go off of ET instead of trap speed...
His first run based on ET is ~ 379 rwhp
His second run with the system on is ~ 442rwhp
So if we go off of trap speed alone, he gained about 30% power just using this?
If we go off of ET he gained about 17%...
These numbers don't add up for me.
I think it's fair to say these runs were not very consistent. His time went up considerably, but his trap speed not as much. Meaning his second run he probably had a way better launch... I'd really like to see the slips from each run. I bet the 60's are way different.
Interesting none the less.

those hp youre you calculated seem waaaaay off.
it doesent take tht much of a hp increase to get a truck even with that size to raun a few tenths while running in the 14's.
if he gained that kind of speed in the 12's or low 13's id have to throw the bs flag out. but the 14's are reasonable
That's a sweet kit. Thanks for the link. I'll probably get this kit for my 7.3..
I'd recommend getting that kit and installing a master switch in the cab so you can turn the system off. I'd also run an additional fuse. Other than that you can save time on getting the parts if you just order that kit. It's not as cool as a DIY one but time is money and you will definitely save time with that kit.

Well my percentage calculations are pretty straight forward, and my 1/4 mile and ET calculations are from CompD, so you can try it for yourself if you wish. If you think it's off, I'd sure like to see you mention it to the crowd over there... haha. It's obviously not *perfect* but it's close. Either way, the numbers flat out don't make sense.... He gained almost 1 full second.... a full second in a 7500lb truck, is quite a bit.
Either way, we don't have a time slip in front of us to fully dissect what was going on, don't know 60', don't know 1/8, we know nothing other than what was posted.
Horsepower Calculator, calculate hp from et, trap speed, calculate tire diameter, mph and rear end ratio.
I ran a 14.25 @ 92mph in my truck, and it puts it right around 425hp, which is pretty accurate. That's why I'm saying none of what was posted makes any sense.

and a 12.9 at 450
Explain that

I never trust what a dyno reads, so if I was asked to dissect your readings, I would immediately throw out your 365hp dyno reading, to me that's the least legit number.
Again, without seeing the entire track slip or the entire dyno plot, hard to say much of anything. Can't see what your 60' was like, can't see what the power under the curve looks like etc.
I dyno'd 466hp, which I knew was high. When I did my 1/4 mile run, my 14.25 with the weight I was at at the time put me at around 423hp IIRC, which is dead on for a tuned 6.0.
The whole point was the numbers don't make sense, especially not for a system intended to raise mileage. I'm not knocking anyone, just looking for clarification.
