Default Oil

Ok, so you think Syn. oil is going to go bad. I worked High performance fighter for the Navy and Marines, They do not change the syn oil in those motors until the oil report says so. And do you think our little motors go thru anything like those fighter jet engines go thru. I don't think so. So please send an oil sample and you will be very suprised by the return.
My quess is you will be able to strech out your change interval.

You have any UOAs from 12-18k on the 6.0? I am just curious to see what the wear numbers and oil viscosity numbers look like... I know a lot of 6.0 people change at 5k due to shearing...but shearing in the absence of accelerated wear is nothing to get excited about IMHO.

Thanks.

I had OA done up to about 12k on Amsoil before, but for the cost of the oil and the cost of OA, it was cheaper to just change it more often with a less expensive oil. I will probably move to T6 for my next oil change and see how the truck likes it. I can tell when it needs changing by how the truck runs.

I went about 8K actual (7500 indicated) before I started doing oil analysis. I'm going to test it at 10k, then 12K, not quite sure when I will dump it this time. While we're constantly told lower numbers, the OA certainly tells you otherwise. Although I may add some Rev-X now that it's over 100K.

How many OA must one do before exceeding the cost of just changing the oil?

I use mobil one for turbo diesel. My truck seems to run really smooth on it. Still original injectors 110,000 miles

I've heard great things from the Schaeffers users too. Scott, what's the blue flame stuff? Never heard of it.
