The chances of me missing a thread int he 6.0 section are pretty slim. Usually on a LOT during the week (desk job!).

I'll shoot you a message tomorrow man, in the mean time I'm deleting your cell number from here so you don't get spammed! Bob brings up a good point that I overlooked... the 03's have a wicked whistle from the factory, are you sure it's not just the exhaust? Do what Bob said about putting your head under the hood.

ok. i look forward to hearing from you. thank you. and i will look into the exhaust. i fired it up earlier and it sounded perfectly fine. but i'm gonna see what it does going down the road. also i'm gonna test my FICM tomorrow morning one more time since i just put in brand new batteries two days ago. when i tested it the first time they were shot and i didn't realize it. see if it got any worse or what's going on with it.

Definitely re-test the FICM. There is no point spending money on something you don't need, especially if your batteries were crap. Let us know what you find on that.

Yes I still love my fords, just not a 6.0 or any after 2003 I think thats the mojority where I live here it Cummins Or Powerstrokes You have to kill people to find a decent 7.3L and Cummins out here. 6.0L are great if there not in the extream cold and dont have to haul 12-18K pounds or travel steep grades . Any how I will quite bashin 6.0L I hope she gets figured out for ya. I do like to ask how much preventive measure do you have to take to make a 6.0L decent? Changing the oil every 3K and filters every 10K and air filter every other oil change sure hasnt saved the one I have Has low Comp at 180K At least ford said they give us a new engine at a 20 percent discount. I will admitt you cant beat the look of a Ford (For Only Redneck Drivers)

One of my good buddies is driving his 06 6.0 with 290k miles on it right now. He didn't even touch anything on the motor until 275k, he finally started pushing a little coolant. It had the original egr cooler, original oil cooler, all 8 original injectors, original trans etc. It's been on nothing smaller than a 37" tire it's whole life and currently resides on 40" tires, and tuned since like 6k miles.

Your low compression could be as simple as an injector hold down coming loose. It happens more than you think. Don't jump to conclusions until you yank the head off or scope it.
