Default Transmission upgrade??

I have added a Airaid Intake and a Banks 4" turbo back exhaust and had the EGR deleted. I now run a SCT tunner and run it on the hot setting. I don't put my foot into all that much ,but it's nice to have that power on that setting when you do need it. I am going to install a remote oil cooler and have my heads studded. My next thing I want to do is the transmission. I am not sure if I should just buy a convertor from RCD or Banks and have the rest of my transmission just beefed up or by a transmission already done from RCD or ATS and use their convertor. I have a little hunt or slip when I mash on it other than that my trans shifts fine. Anyone out there have any options on what to do?? Thanks and Merry Christmas

Brian's Truck Shop is one of the best builders out there. The 5r can take a beating so you might do just fine for now.

This is what I intend to do next to my truck from Go-Go diesel. Its a direct Clutch Solenoid for that dreaded 3-5 hang up. The same one that cost me two drag races because it took so long to shift.
GoGoDiesel Modified Direct Clutch Solenoid GoGoDiesel Modified Direct Clutch Solenoid [GGD-DirectSOL] - $150.00 : Direct Injection Performance - GoGoDiesel.Com, Your Source For All Things Diesel!
With the throttle response I picked up from SCT and the EGR cooler delete, my desires for a lower stall converter went out the window. Remeber to wait until you are at 190* before hitting the loud pedal, I've been told this is the way to the Dark Side and head gasket failure.

If you're doing a cab-off for the studs, I'd wait till I actually pushed out a gasket. Studs are good, but they aren't the end all to popping a head gasket, either.

Well what are you planning to do for power mods? If you're just running the tuner, good custom tunes will be all you need to make the trans last. Who's tunes are you using now?

If you plan on going bigger with the injectors and turbo, we will need to know how big before we can make any recommendation.

ATS = garbage, and their warranty is worse than their hard parts.

Banks = waste of money for pretty much anything.

I would stick with the well known trans builders. BTS (Brians truck shop) is certainly a good choice, however there may be builders closer to you.

The GoGo solenoid is a good upgrade.

How is it going fellows?
Have a chance to get a trans rebuild by my shop and some one else pay the bill.
Not planning to put a tuner on it for a while.just had the heads donennot studded yet.this year.if it pops a gasket or not.Blocked off the EGR cooler and wrapped the hot side of turbo with nuke proof blanket.Has31/4 from turbo, a gutted cat and straight pipe to behind the tire.At idle sounds like a F-14 waiting for take off.Planning to fit a 4"pipe from turbo back.
The upgrades that are out there, are they worth it?do they add any Longgevity?
Any help

I have only recently looked at some lititure about a BD trans that has upgraded shift points and fluid flow.I really am not sure what I should be looking for.I would love to build the trans enough that If I put 1200 ft lbs to it it will handle it.without breaking their budget.

NADP is one of the best in the business.

Doug @ GoGo (direct injection performance) can also build them really well without breaking the bank. I think he pieces together parts instead of buying a "kit" and saves a bunch of money.

Brian @ BTS does a great job with 4R100's and he's doing these too now.

NADP is Canadian, I believe their full built trans runs about $5500 USA dollars. A lot, but you get the best of the best.

Doug from GoGo is closer to you, he's in Florida, google him and give him a call, he'll explain what he does to you. Usually when someone calls him and finally talks to him on the phone, they end up going with him. He know's his stuff.
