Ok wont worry about the flash. It buzzes when I turn the key on.
When I plug it in it still acts the same. After its been running for a while it smoothes out and I have no problems with it. The truck is awesome after it gets all of the initial startup crap out of the way.
The more I think about it I dont think the injectors are buzzing. It has a noise but its nothing like what ive heard on most 6.0s. And right before the light goes off it makes a weird noise almost like its letting air out. boomve. Thats how i interpret it by spelling out my noise. HAHA! I know that my neighbor has a newer 6.0 and his is loud when he turns his key on. Mine sounds like its embarresed to make any noise.

When you tested your FICM you had ~ 48 Volts at all three times? Key on engine off, cranking, and running? Did you let it run for a couple minutes? I've seen them slowly start losing voltage as it's running.

Do you know what shape your batteries are in? You'd be surprised how crappy these things run with dying batteries. I would suggest having them load tested at an auto parts store.

I'm just trying to think of things you can do without having to hook it to a scanner, but really that would be the best thing right now.

Tested ficm and read 48 all three places. Didnt let it run for a long time but it never read under 48.
Batteries are brand spankin new 850 cca. One of the first things I bought when I first started having problems.
They had it on a scanner at the shop I took it to and they said the only thing they could come up with was the two injectors. I wish I had the scanner tho.
It such a pain in the *** to feel so helpless on this damn truck. I went to school for automotive but it was gas. These damn diesels have so many f-in things that can cause the same f-in problem Im goin crazy . Wish I could get the truck to you. You know what the hell your talkin about. So far everybody Ive talked to around here is like you shoulda got a cummins or a 7.3 hahaha!

Did they say what two injectors? Or better yet, did they give you the codes? That would be immensely helpful even. It's possible you just have two injectors dying, but it's tough to say, and I hate seeing anyone throw parts at a truck without having it properly diagnosed. Unfortunately I see no other way to go right now other than having it put on a scanner.

I think first step is try that Rev-X and go from there.

Im pretty sure he said injectors 2 and 4. Im going to pick it up tonight and I will be sure to ask for everything they found. I hope they would have the codes and eveything from when they ran it. Their price for injectors was like 360+ a piece. Ive seen them for 200 a piece. Dont know if they are any good but if I go that route I will def consult with you before I do it. Rev x and pressure upgrade is on order and Im gonna pick up my banjo bolts and washers when I get off work. Let you know as well what info they give me when I pick up the truck.

The only injector anyone should be buying is directly from Ford. Even the "big" injectors guys buy... the quality companies start with new injectors from Ford, then mod them. There are no true aftermarket injectors for the 6.0, and those "rebuilds" on ebay... be extremely careful.

FWIW, new Ford injectors come with a 12k mile/12 month warranty too.

Alright got er back from the shop. Injector 2 and 4 are the stickies. He gave me a list of codes. One was an injector code, 2 were egr codes, and the fourth Im not sure of. I meant to grab my paper from the truck. I will here in a little bit.
How tight is the belt usually? I, for ***** and giggles, yanked on it and I could take it off by hand. Hell I think my wife could even take it off by hand. Im thinkin my tensioner could be shot.
Last night I plugged it in (it never got below 40 last night) and I had no prob with the injectors stickin this morning. I did run her quite a bit yesterday. I put on 50 or 60 miles in the evening rompin on her quite a bit.
I will get the codes and post them up here in a little bit.

If it does come to having to replace the injectors what do you think about buying the rebuilt ones? A guy that works for my dad has a friend that rebuilds them. I figure if buyin rebuilds are ok to use then with this guy bein local at least if I have any problems I can actually get in touch with him. The guy that works for my dad is a really good friend of ours and im positive if he says hes good then he means it.

Stay as far away from rebuilds as possible. No matter how good your dads buddy is, he can't fix a sticking injector. No one replaces spool valves as far as I know. I'm not even sure how Ford does it. I believe Alliant rebuilds their injectors for them, I'd assume they replace the spool valves, but you can't exactly buy them to DIY. These are NOT 7.3 injectors, there are no DIY kits out there for them. If you have to get new injectors, get new FORD units only, unless you want to take a chance of diving back in there in a few months to replace them again.

Get us the codes, that will tell us what we're looking at here. All of the codes please.

Your tensioner should be replaced too.

From the sounds of it, REV-X will be much simpler and easier than swapping injectors, I'd recommend trying that, but get us the codes first so we can try to properly diagnose it.

Ok heres the codes he listed
P0272
P0403
P0404
P0603
I should receive my rev x by early next week. I sure hope that helps out. I went out and took a video of what my truck sounds like when the glow plugs are warming. Can barely hear it. If i can get youtube to work for me I will post it up as well as what it does when it shakes.

You can't hear glowplugs. That faint buzzing noise you hear is the injectors buzzing. If it sounds weak, it's typically bad batteries or a dying FICM. Since you have new batteries, I'm leaning towards FICM, get the video up though and I can get a better judgement. I'm also going to get video of my truck buzzing so you guys can compare it for the future.

P0272 - cylinder 4 contribution code
P0403 - EGR code
P0404 - EGR code
P0603 - KAM (keep alive memory) code

You have ONE code for an injector here... two egr codes... did you install your EGR delete already? If so, that's what those codes are, not a big deal. If you still have the EGR valve in there let me know. The KAM code I see for all different reasons, but dying batteries is one of them. Since you just replaced batteries, that's probably why that is there, it should go away with more driving.

Injectors usually are pretty far gone if they're actually throwing codes. I've had sticky injectors for a long time before and it never threw codes.
