Default Head Gaskets

i am getting ready to do my head gaskets on my 05 F350. i am going to take the heads in to get decked i have ARP studs but i am not sure what type of gasket i should use or a good place to buy one? also while i am in there i am thinking on doing the egr delete is there anything else that i should do while the cab is off and it is easy to get to the whole motor? Thanks

IMO the OEM head gaskets are best. You can get them for $135 each from TousleyFordParts. Just as an FYI, they come w/ bolts, just discard them. If you want the OEM head gasket by itself, BulletProofDiesel sells them without the bolts.

I believe the part # is 4C3Z-6051-EB. Call them and verify (due to changes in heads in the 05 - 06 time frame).

will there be any problems if i use heads of of a 07 and where are the dowels so i can make sure i get the right gasket

You can use the 07 heads. You just need the conversion kit for the alignment dowels since the 07's use 20mm dowels and the 05's use the 18mm. Call Tousley - they can get you what you need for a reasonable price. For that matter so can BulletProofDiesel.

Agreed, stick with OEM gaskets.
