my 03 will blow white smoke in the two three up shift until either it shifts or kicks down. any suggestions?

 

Headgaskets or EGR cooler. Need more info about the truck...

 

it has 95k on it fresh hpop at 70k no codes cleaned egr when hpop was replaced it only does it under hard acceleration on the 2-3 upshift. no oil/water mix in the crankcase. when it does it it has no power, as soon as it shifts it quits blowing smoke and the power is on like donkey kong.

 

There usually isn't oil/water mix when the headgaskets go. Are you finding white residue around the cap on the coolant reservoir under the hood?

It would really help to know what the white smoke smells like, but my guess right now is egr cooler.

 

I have been fighting a problem just like this for the last 6 mounth my truck would dump white smoke out at ever stop light and stop sign when i would take off but i had no loss of power truck was still under warranty and took it to dealer and they thought it was fuel so they replaced 3 weak injectors and it still smoked so i took it back and they replaced the fuel pump and it still smoked so they tested the injectors again and they replaced 2 more injectors and i bought the other 3 and they put them in for free still smoked. So with new EGR oil cooler 8 new injectors truck still smoked with no change dealer did not know what to do. So I thought it may be my turbo seal going out so i bought a 10 blade wheel 2003 turbo and rebuilt it and took my stock 13 off yesterday and i could see verry verry little oil under the exhaust wheel and when i put my new turbo on it has seemed to fix my problem i have drove it about 50 miles so far and no smoke plues now i got that great turbo noise form the 2003 turbo. Good luck
