I have a manual and it says it is the transmission temperature gauge.

 

That's news to me. I'm going to try warming truck up normally, then I'm going to try warming truck up with high idle. My high idle switch also locks the torque converter... that should tell me right there if that gauge goes up faster. I feel like a complete idiot... I can't believe I've gone this entire time thinking it was a different gauge. I'm still not convinced!

I see the symbol, honestly it means nothing to me. It's not like any of the gauges on the dash even tell you what the heck is going on. This is why I run stand-alone gauges anyways. I have a stand-alone trans temp, and it never coincides with what that gauge reads at all... That gauge shows "normal" temps when my trans is anywhere from 100-180 degrees. What good is that?

i didn't say it worked in my 6.0 it never did, always showed normal no matter what the hell i was doing to that poor truck, my 7.3 one works though.....
