Westach gauges ... comments?
4 Attachment(s)
I am considering constructing a four gauge pod with the following Westach gauges:
EGT/Boost Oil temp/Water temp Fuel pressure (80 or 100 PSI) Trans temp I ran a Westach EGT/Boost and fuel pressure in my last truck and they worked very well. Does anyone have any comments regarding these gauges? Anyone know of a good source for them, other than dealing directly with Westach? I am going to speak with someone over at Westach to make sure I can find senders for the oil, water and trans that are compatible with these gauges ... maybe someone already knows and can fill me in???? Here's what they'll look like: |

Those gauges are awesome. What do they look like at night?

You can replace the boot that covers the bulb with any color you desire. I had green in my Dodge to match the dash. I have white gauges in my truck with red highlights, so I think I'll be finding myself a red boot.
I like the dual function, since you can get more on your pillar pod and not have to worry about littering your cab with aftermarket gauge pods. |
How much do they cost. They are pretty cool!!!!
|
I wouldnt get the trans temp gauge, the 5r110 runs cool even when towing so the factory gauge is good enough IMO.

Good call! That's sure to save me close to $100!
I'm so used to the Cummins setup, I overlooked the trans gauge on the dash. The EGT/boost gauge runs around $275, which includes the sensors. The fuel pressure is about $100, with the electric sending unit. The oil/water temp runs around $110. Just got to make sure I can get them all in white. I'm glad you chimed in, Stone, I didn't really want a four pod pillar ... thanks! |
I wanted to get these originally for my truck but it was too much $$. I wanted the 4th pod on the steering column.
They make flight instrumentation so they must be great products. |

Where do you hook up the eot/ect sensor? I have some cheep glowshift gauges and I had to wield a nut to the oil pan to get a eot probe in
I also just noticed the fuel pressure only goes up to 30psi. The 6.0 runs between 50-60psi |

EDIT: Here's where the water temp goes: http://www.dieselmanor.com/diy/Ford_water60.htm

There is no trans temp gauge on the factory dash!?
Gauges are definitely one of those things where you get what you pay for. I'm not familiar with these gauges, so I wont say anything else about them I use Dipricol optix and Isspro EV2's right now. No complaints from either. |
