They use new heads from what I understand. They need to be decked no matter what, new, used, reman, whatever, they HAVE to be decked or you're going to be doing this again. I had my ARP's dealer installed too. They used one new head and one old head, blew the gaskets again shortly after. (less than 1 year of driving) and I hadn't towed anything heavier than a 2 place enclosed snowmobile trailer.

I was told by a Ford master diesel technician on ps.org to have even the new heads decked no matter what.

I would also have hardened valve seats install while you have it apart.

Get the heads decked. Even with new heads. Valve work is a good idea since 6.0l/6.4l heads love to crack at the exhaust seat.

Default BLOWN GASKETS AGAIN!!!!

Getting ready to do HG again on my truck. Found a set of used heads off an 07. Picked em up for 600 bucks. Dropped em at my local cylinder head specialist. Initial magnaflux valve in passed. One head was out about .007 with feeler. Heads will be decked. To compensate some for clearance they will take about half that off the valve stems. He called today and said couple cylinders failed vacuum test but they passed pressure test. Waiting on price to do valve work with harden seats. At this point I'm going all the way and at least I know what I have got. He also mentioned a new set from this Chinese company that is making them now but I'd skip that idea.
