can a gutted cat cause any problems to my 2004 f-350 6.0 ???

 

idk i hope not because did mine yesterday and we get it back from the shop with arp head studs today

 

your gonna think u turned on a jet when u hear this sucker with a gutted cat, i jst wonder if any harm is done do it

 

I wonder how the smog check goes w/a gutted cat?

 

Well, you'd pass the visual inspection, that's for sure

 

idk it shouldnt because doesnt it only cut down noise and some smell?....my one buddy has his truck straight piped and for a year he had no problems...and also on youtube theres some 6.0 s wiith straight piped and or gutted cat

 

I really want to know, because I may have to put one back on soon and would like to gut it first myself.

Do you think Ford cats work any differently than Dodge cats?

 

there is no problems that can arise from gutting a cat, maybe on the new DPF equipped trucks cause they have o2 sensors and everything which having a gutted converter would mess with that, however on pre DPF trucks the cat was just there to be there pretty much, and only positives can come from getting rid of the cat converter
