I got alittle nervious for a minute. That white crap was all over the bottle, but no smoke. But I got to thinking that it could have been from when the egr cooler went bad the week before I bought the truck. I cleaned the outside of the bottle And while making the hour drive to the college, At about the half way mark I let her eat at about 19-20 psi (still having a hard time making more boost then that) for about 30 or 40 seconds. Nothing has reappeared.

Keep driving it, and keep romping on it. Let us know if it comes back. Mine was recently pushing some coolant gases out, but not really spewing a lot of coolant, so I wouldn't get much white residue, but I definitely got some pressure bleeding off and the tea kettle whistle. Ended up just being the cap was bad.

my stepdad had this same problem haulin his boat to cumberland on a 100 degree afternon. sprayin coolant all over the windshield. he removed the tune and he had the degas bottle replaced and the cap. supposedly it overheated and the coolant melted the seam of the degas bottle. he had a small sct tune from eric and hasnt had another problem since he removed the tune and had the bottle replaced

Where's his coolant level? Is he aware the "low" level mark on the coolant bottle is actually where it is supposed to be topped off too. This is a Ford TSB. They actually have a sticker they slap on noting the new level.

yes the sticker was on there and the coolant level was correct. i know if you overfill them it can cause the cap to fail and coolant blow out, but his was actually blowin out of the seal where the two halves of the degas bottle come together. the coolant was litterally covering his windshield.

Oh wow. Yeah that can happen. The bottles get brittle over the years.

My degas bottle has traces of dried coolant on it. And the lever has gone down a bit since i flushed it 2 months ago. Im losing power also and im suspecting EGR issues. Could it be heads also? The reason i dont think its heads is because my mechanic said they appeared to be replaced and the bolts were not stock (they werent studs either). I had all 8 injectors plus fuel pump replaced too so i ruled out those issues as well. Its either torque converter, egr, or heads. I just want my traces of dried coolant explained.

mine is doing that after I hit a car in front of me. Just went to pick it up from the body shop and the exact same thing but it blew the cap off as soon as I got it on the interstate
