So by saying it wont go in using auto mode, I take it the hubs lock when you put them in manual?
Mine just did this exact thing. It's a vacuum leak on the hubs. Usually caused from the wheel bearing getting bad, then it wobbles and causes the leak. My truck only has 57k miles on it, but they're almost all highway. Luckily I'm getting it fixed under the 5yr/60k powertrain on my 06. $100 deductible, and they're replacing one bearing, both seals and both hubs.

Hope i titled reply right; first time. THANKS FOR THE REPLY. I've checked the hubs & bearings they seem good. Got info from Just Answer (ford) they said elect. checked that out ; everything they said is ok. It still works in manual mode. Thanks Fof The Reply. Strega98
If it's still working in manual mode, then the hubs are not broke. I would just replace the seals, I'll be there is a vacuum leak somewhere, which is why it wont engage in auto.
You may have a vacuum leak else where though, try checking the lines.
