When you say its burning coolant, is it just loosing coolant and you can't see a leak? Is your truck puking? Is there white residue all over the underside of your hood?

 

I took it to a diesel shop not to long ago and they said that it looked liked it was my egr valve, they said it more than likely is not my head gasket bc it would be spraying coolant all over my hood. But what it is doing is losing coolant fast I mean I have to refill it about every 2 weeks now and I did notice one time when I was letting my truck warm up it was leaking down onto the ground.

 

If you pull your egr valve and it is wet, then most likely its your cooler. Get an full egr delete kit and be done with it. Much cheaper in the long run. PM me.

 

I just started my truck up to try and see were this thing was leaking and it is leaking by the passenger side manifold not coming from the manifold but around there. Is that were the egr is located?

 

No, the egr valve is located on the top front of the engine.

 

I think the mechanics were wrong it is bubling from my manifold. I think that would be my head's wouldnt it or is it the gasket? What do you guys think this could be since it is bubling around the manifold??

 

If youve been driving around with a leaky EGR cooler there is a good chance that you have also lifted your heads, thats what happened to mine. Previous owner had been driving around with leaky EGR and 1 1/2 weeks after i bought it the cooler completly let go and they found that the HGs where bad also, most likely from the added pressure of the coolant being burned (words from dealer). Anyways other stuff was damaged and i got a new motor under warrenty. I would take it to another shop. Also, like I said, Just unplugging the EGR wont fix your problem it will still leak and exhaust still enters the cooler.
