i have an 05 f-350. recently it started making a clanging noise underneath the front whenever i go over bumps in the road. ive looked under neatht the truck but everything seems secure. any ideas?

 

check the trac bar, the trac bar mount on the frame, shocks, sway bar end links etc....

 

Your front end sounds like it may be worn out. My brother just dropped 600 at midas for all new bushings on a 2 wheel drive.

 

Check the mounting points of the front shocks.

 

spring bushing?? check those closely

 

I'm gonna bet swaybar links.

 

The sway bar endlinks made a horrible clunking noise on my 04. I could even feel it in the floor! Also check the other areas mentioned above. Good Luck!

 

what exactly am i looking for??? everything looksfine to me. id like to have an idea of whats going on before i pay to get it fixed. recently it started making a low thumping noise when i put on the brakes. its dosent do it everytime though.
