I don't know about the turbos, but I have read that the EGR system on those 6.0 liters does need cleaning from time to time, especially if you are running a chip or other device. There is a good article on this in Diesel Power magazine, either this month or last.

 

Turbo Clean is a very strong cleaner for the fuel system and the combustion chamber of the motor.The product improves the working of both the motor and turbo.

 

The only way I'd do this is follow the link Zmann posted. It is the turbo reconditioning procedure step by step with pictures.

How do you guys think Ford is going to clean your turbo? They're either going to do exactly what that link says, or get nothing accomplished.

 

That process is actually a lot simpler than I thought it would be.
