Default Truck being sluggish after maintenance

So a few days ago I went ahead and did an oil change, oil filter change and fuel filter change on my truck after I was done I started the truck up and it idle very roughly and didn’t want to move. Thinking it was just some residual air from the fuel filter change I shut it down and cycled the fuel pump a few times and it started up normally and drove but as of yesterday it has been acting very strange. It acting like it doesn’t have much power and takes awhile just to get up to even 30mph. I had a P0226 code for the number 2 cylinder contribution/balance. Which has since gone away. All parts used are motor craft filters really don’t know what’s going on really hope I didn’t damage an injector some how. I did a balloon test on it yesterday no bubbles so just unsure of how to proceed.

Cylinder 2 contribution is P0266 (not P0226). Which one do you have?

P0266 is: Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch "C" Circuit Range/Performance.

Just for background info, several questions:
Are you sure that the oil filter cap is a Ford OEM cap also?
Not knowing where you are, is it abnormally cold there? What oil did you use?
What year truck?
Since you pulled an injector code, you must have a scan tool. Which one?

The code was for cylinder 2 contribution/balance. My bad must have type the wrong number.

Im fairly certain the oil filter cap is the correct OEM one

I used motorcraft oil (15w-40)

it’s a 2005

The scan tool I use currently is just a UScan blue tooth scan tool

LOL - I did it too!

So it is P0266. A little odd that an oil change would immediately trigger an injector issue, but maybe your spool valves are sticking. You might try some stiction additive for the oil. Archoil, Rev-X, or Hot Shots Secret. Each one of these has its share of good reports and bad reports. No guarantees except for a good while it is cheaper than a new injector.

IMO a 5W40 oil is much less likely to result in stiction than a 15W40.

I might try switching the oil and adding an additive in that case. Hoping if the injector is shot tho it’s only one. So I can replace that one and save up for a full set. Oh the joy of having an older truck I’ll let you know what ends up happening.

Posting a conclusion is ALWAYS appreciated. Hope it works. Lots of people only replace one or two and run that way for a lot of miles!

Bad news

Went our to start it today started really hard code for cylinder 2 contribution/balance came

went ahead and bought a injector and swapped them out unfortunately it seems the last owner also swapped that one out at one point and broke the connector so he rubber cemented it together I just went ahead and swapped it anyways and taped it down so I could still start it and make sure it would run anyways I put it back together and went to start it long crank starts rough idle low power. And so many codes

codes
P0264 cylinder 2 injector circuit low
P0266 again
p0282 cylinder 8 injector circuit low
p0284 cylinder 8 contribution/balance
p2291 injector control pressure to low - engine cranking

The electrical codes need to be addressed first. You either have a harness issue or a FICM issue (or I guess it could be both).

Do you have a known good FICM you can try?

If you are wanting to be proactive with your FICM, I would recommend sending it to FICMrepair.com to get it checked out and upgraded.

What year is your truck?
