I'm still new to owning a diesel and I've read idk how many different things as to how often to change the fuel filter ranging from 3k miles to only once a year. What do you guys do?

 

I change mine every oil change, regardless if it needs it or not. I usually run about 10k-15k miles on it.

 

Every other oil change will work. It's not a good filter to begin with "Main reason for Injector failure"! Everyone should install a 2 micron filter before the CP3 to extend injector life.

 

Baldwin PF7977 5 micron drop in @ 10K. I also have a GDP underhood Cat filter. Change that @ 20K.
On the frame I have a Cat water separator filter. 20K on that.
Whew!
If anything gets past that it was meant to be.

I use a wix paper filter and change it every other oil change- so about 12k miles. Not to steal the thread but what's the best filtration system for the $$$? This a decent dual filter system?
