Default Steering sound
When I'm driving down the road and steer left on a turn there's a thumping noise coming from the front end on the drivers side. Any ideas as to what it could be?

Check the trac bar mount on the drivers side. Then check the trac bar mount bolt. Verify all the hardware is torqued correctly.

I looked and the boot in between the pitman arm and drag link is pretty worn out. Could this be the problem? It doesn't always make the noise just sometimes.

U-joints in axle shaft drive side? That is assuming your truck is 4x4

No. The trac bar mounts to the frame on the driver's side and the axle on the passenger side. Solid bar...no adjustments can be made.
