Default few 6.0 issues. help please!!

so my 6.0 is acting weird. problem #1: When my truck has been sitting for a few hours and i start it up is runs really rough and there is no turbo sound coming from the exhaust. after 30 seconds or so it clears up and idles smooth but theres still no turbo sound. ill pull out of my driveway and drive maybe 100 yards and the rpms are around 2000 and the turbo will spool up all of the sudden and makes a surging sound and the truck jerks for probably another 100 yards. if i got wide open trottle, let off, and put my foot back on the gas the turbo wont spool and theres no power. if i drive for a few minutes youll hear it spool back up. what could be the problem?
Problem #2: sometimes while driving my truck will start to jerk and puff black smoke and sound like its about to die(sometimes it will die) then if i just keep driving it clears itself up or if it dies, ill crank it up and itll be fine. help me please!

Its a 04 4x4 ccsb with 168xxx miles, egr delete, and bullydog pmt. No codes are being thrown

sounds like turbo vanes sticking for the surging. the rest could be fuel press. issue or high press. oil related probs. check codes.

It isn't throwing any codes. Could it be a failing injector?

You can check cyl. contribution with a scan tool to rule out injectors. I would say clean turbo vanes. check icp press. and fuel press. while driving. youll need a scan tool for icp press, also check ficm volts. You could unplug icp sensor and see how it acts while driving but, if its early 04 they are kind of a pain to get to.

you compare it actual vs. desired. watch icp voltage to see if it drops out while driving. watch icp press. act. vs. des. to see if the actual is correct to desired.

Ok I'm in the truck now and the ICP is measuring 1.5 KSI at idle and at WOT it reaches 9.8 KSI

on a long shot check the frequency of the MAF, or maybe try running it with it unplugged
