Are there two in each head? There are three locations where they can fit. When I tore the heads off of it only found two dowels.

 

Only 2 dowls, also make sure you use Ford Headgaskets, they have a kit that comes with the dowls/both 18mm and 20mm and also they come with the new standpipie, Tousley Ford sells them for around $135 a side. The Black Ox head gaskets have had alot of problems, they are too thin and fail in a matter of a year or so. FYI
