ARP head studs, new OEM gaskets are a good start, but you shouldn't even bother doing this job without having the heads decked. If the heads aren't flat, the job is a waste of time.
Roger that! I have to look into this. Where could I buy a set of heads?

From Ford. They're ~ $1000 a piece. They come loaded with valves and valve springs already too. There are other companies that do remans, but it's not like there's aftermarket heads available. I know Liberator performance does some. I've heard good things about Odessa cylinder heads too, they seem to have really good customer service. I believe another member here was using them.

Even if you buy new heads... bring them to the machine shop to have them checked/decked anyways. Sometimes new heads are out of spec.
